Meet Our Provider
Gretchen Machesney, MSN, RN, APRN, ACNPC-AG, CCRN
Gretchen entered into healthcare as a registered nurse in 2006 where she spent 11 years working as an ICU nurse prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with her master's degree in 2017 and became a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner shortly thereafter. She has experience in internal medicine, cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, palliative care, gerontology, and critical care (cardiac, cardiac surgery, trauma, & neurosurgery). She is certified through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses as both a critical care registered nurse & acute care nurse practitioner, with an additional specialization in gerontology.
Throughout her career, Gretchen has had a deep commitment to patient care and believes in building strong relationships with her patients and their families, ensuring they receive the support and guidance they need throughout their health journey. She believes in the importance of listening to patients and collaborating with them to create personalized care plans that address their individual health needs. Gretchen believes healthcare should not be rushed, and that every patient should receive the time they need to voice their concerns and receive education about their health conditions and medications.
Gretchen continues to actively participate in ongoing educational activities and classes in order to stay updated on the latest advancements in healthcare. She also has experience with diverse patient populations and has worked in both hospital and clinic settings.
Outside of her medical career, Gretchen is a proud mother of two grown daughters, a teenage son, 2 grandchildren, and 4 dogs! Family & friends are at the heart of her life, and she cherishes every minute spent with her loved ones.
In her free time, Gretchen enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes. She also loves reading, watching baseball & football, boating, and traveling with her husband.
